Using routes

Routes let a form show different pages depending on a user’s answer.

Use routes only where they make the form clearer or prevent users from being asked questions that do not apply to them.

Before publishing a routed form:

  • test every possible path
  • make sure users cannot become trapped in a loop
  • make sure required information is collected on every relevant path
  • preview the form from the beginning, not only from the changed page
  • confirm that the service can process submissions produced by every route
